BRIEF
Located at the edge of Kampong Bharu in Kuala Lumpur, this was originally a small football field that was utilized as a recreational spot by local residents. The authorities then decided to upgrade this area into a proper public recreational park with all the necessary amenities, including a playing field, children's playground, pocket park, toilets, cafes & parking facility. FW's task was to provide the necessary wayfinding & EGD (Experiential Graphic Design) solutions. |
CHALLENGE
The perennial Expectation vs Budget conundrum. |
SOLUTION
Wayfinding was a straightforward affair. Design-wise, we paid homage to the Malay cultural identity & heritage by, amongst others, having the signage system be inspired by the various patterns / motifs of the traditional Malay songket. This included the arrow set, signage shape & form as well as accentuating patterns on the signs. Icons were also customized to reflect the Malay identity. In addition, the usage of Jawi, where practical, was also adopted. |
